Lesson 5 Team Blog Reflections

  • Team work of which I am proud.
    • Being able to compile a presentation with fluidity and quick trouble shooting.
    • Pulling together the presentation with last minute technical challenges with elluminate.
    • Our group did an awesome job getting our sections for the presentation completed. Even with our technical difficulties, we managed to stay calm and were able to take care of our minor problems. Our presentation went well and had a nice flow to it.
  • Team work which I found exceptionally challenging.
    • Presenting a topic that was already exceptionally presented.
    • I felt pretty overwhelmed with our paper, chat moderation and presentation all falling at or around the same time.
    • The presentation itself was challenging because it was hard to get the team together at times. We also had some minor technical issues before the presentation. We lost some images and had a hard time working with Elluminate. We managed to pull together an awesome presentation.
  • Reflections on technology and instructional strategies that you and your team learned from this lesson.
    • Technology continues to astound me!
    • I finally learned how to use Google Wave after months of procrastination.
    • I was happy to actually have someone to use Google Wave with. I had the invitation for a while, but never really played around with it. It wasn't until I had to teach how to use Google Wave that I really played around with it.
  • Anything your team would like to share
    • We all worked hard on this week but I think one member really went above and beyond to keep us on track, Thanks Marta!
    • I second the observation of the dedication and work that Marta put in this lesson!
    • We have a hard working team who is dedicated to doing there share of the work. The best team I've had so far!

  1. Team work which I am proud of: I am so incredibly proud of my team and how we pulled together an awesome presentation in such a short amount of time. We all worked diligently to meet he requirements and the deadline - we are awesome!
Challenges: We had selected a topic for our presentation that had been presented the night before ours - what a challenge that was to try to include information that had not already been presented! Also - I had a particularly difficult time with my graphics with my portion of the presentation - my team worked with me to fix the situation up until the last minute - and even though very stressful, and incidently unsuccessful - it was amazing how we all remained so calm and did the best we could - thank you team!
Reflections on technology: UHG! Technology is awesome but continues to frustrate me - and yet never ceases to amaze me. Google Wave is a great example of where technology is heading - it continues to expand and integrate itself - with itself - in such a profound manner. So hard to keep up and even still so hard to find the time to keep up. I feel that if I don't enroll my kids in some sort of technology extra curricular course that they will not be able to navigate effectively in the future. I know kids today have it all down but there is so much changing and becoming more complicated that we have got to make it a focus for kids.
I'd also like to share that our team is incredible - but yes Marta you ROCK!

  2. Our network training session is an example of real-world presentation because we have various audiences. In fact, we had non-classmates audiences. Since it was a real-world presentation, we need to expect and to prepare anything unexpected. Anything could go wrong. It challenges us to have well-planned ideas and solutions.

Your group has done outstanding job on Network training session. It was very informative and interactive. I enjoyed it very much. I know many our classmates learned a lot for your sessions as well. In fact, we have ETC alumni told me your session was excellent. Many people accessed the recording archives.

Unit proposals are critical to our final unit. Be sure to follow the feedback that you received and reflect them on your final unit. I will take our unit proposals to review our final units. Don’t give up! We are almost done with the semester. :-)

Don’t give up! We almost finish the semester.
